Former NALCO CMD Tapan Chand joins BJP

 Bhubaneswar, March 6: Tapan Kumar Chand, former Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NALCO, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Wednesday.

The joining ceremony took place at the BJP’s state headquarters office in Bhubaneswar, where Manmohan Samal, the party’s state president, welcomed Chand and the other new members into the saffron party.

After joining the party, Chand said, “The BJP is the largest platform for development and prosperity of India which is why I decided to be part of it. I am inspired by PM Modi’s dedication, hard work, and work ethic.”

Chand was associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his college days. He was also the student union president of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar, 

Other than Tapan Chand, retired Navy officer Dr.Bipin Mishra, Dinabandhu Sarangi, Ashok Patnaik, Ramesh Lenka, and retired Air Force officers Krutibash Mishra and N.K. Mishra also joined the BJP today.

 Similarly, Rushi Kumar Patel, after resigning from the post of state vice-president of BJD Krushak Morcha, has also joined the BJP today.
