Dhenkanal Laxmi Puja 2024: Six Mandaps dazzle with Chandi Medha

Dhenkanal, Oct 16: The Laxmi Puja celebrations in Dhenkanal are shining brightly this year with the stunning display of six magnificent ‘Chandi Medhas,’ drawing crowds from near and far. The Puja committees at Meena Bazaar, Ganesh Bazaar, Kaibalya Bazaar, laxmi Bazaar, Jubuli Town-2 and Gudia Nali have each created exquisite silver tableaux, showcasing the artistry and devotion of the community.

The Sri Sri Maudamani Gajalaxmi Puja at Meena Bazaar is the first committee to unveil its Chandi Medha, utilizing approximately One quintal and 65 kg of silver for this grand occasion. To enhance the goddess's beauty, a one-kilogram golden tiara has been elegantly placed atop her head.

Following suit, the Kaibalya Bazaar Puja Committee has contributed one quintal and 40 kg of silver since 2017, continuing its commitment to the festivities with a stunning display.

The Soubhagyalaxmi Puja Committee at Ganesh Bazaar stands out with an impressive showcase of three quintal of silver, alongwith a beautifully crafted one-kilogram golden crown for the goddess.

At Gudia Nali, the Golden Street Puja Committee has utilized one quintal and 10 kg of silver, while the Laxmi Bazaar has joined as the fifth committee this year. Additionally, the sixth committee, Jubuli Town-2, is proudly displaying Chandi Medha for the first time.

The festivities are a vibrant tapestry of rituals and traditions, with various mandaps adorned in both silver and gold, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere that captivates devotees and visitors
