Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: The Odisha government would conduct career counselling of Class IX and X students from this academic year.
The teachers will advice and help students in choosing career after matriculation.
The School and Mass Education Department has prepared a detailed report in this regard. It will be discussed during the fourth parent-teacher meeting (PTM) scheduled to be held on January 13.
The counselling would help the students and their guardians to make proper career planning and also boost their confidence.
Besides, the PTM will discuss on nine subjects including Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and School Safety Policy 2016.
The PTM is aimed at strengthening academic monitoring through parental participation. The parents will be trained how to keep their children stress free.
The teachers will provide views on each child so that parents know the kind of help and support their child needs to improve academically.
