Chandigarh, October 21: Punjab's former Director General of Police (DGP) Mohammad Mustafa and his wife, Razia Sultana, a former state minister, have been booked in connection with the death of their son, Akil Akhter. Haryana Police confirmed the registration of the case, which charges the couple with murder.

Akil Akhter, an advocate by profession, was found dead in Panchkula, Haryana, on Thursday. In addition to his parents, Akhter's wife and sister have also been named in the FIR.

The case was filed on October 20 under Sections 103(1) and 61, about  murder and criminal conspiracy. The complaint was lodged by Shamshuddin, who raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding Akhter’s death, calling it "suspicious."

The police are now investigating the allegations, which suggest foul play in Akhter’s death.
