Khordha, Jan 30: In a tragic incident, a 19 year girl allegedly committed suicide over a love affair in Odisha’s Khordha district on Monday.
The deceased who hailed from Sunakhala in Puri district, was working as an assistant at a private clinic in Mukundaprasad in Khordha for the last six months and staying in a rented house there.
However, her body was found hanging with a dupatta at her workplace on Monday evening.
Being informed by the clinic authorities, police reached the spot, seized the body for post-mortem and started investigation into the incident.
According to the girl's coworkers, she had been sharing 'sad' updates on WhatsApp in recent days. Her final WhatsApp status, posted around 6 pm on the tragic day, displayed a picture of a crying girl with the caption stating, "I am waiting for my death." It is being suspected that the girl took the extreme step of killing herself over disturbance or failure in the love affair.
Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
