Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: In yet another incident of Human-animal confict, an elderly woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Bantala forest in Odisha’s Angul district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Kastu Dehuri (65) of Gadataila village in the district.
The incident occurred while, Kastu had gone to his agricultural field this morning to harvest crops when an elephant unexpectedly arrived and trampled him. He was quickly rescued by villagers and taken to Angul District Headquarter’s Hospital, where doctors unfortunately declared him dead.
