Cuttack, March 23: In an unprecedented incident, a youth in Cuttack jumped off the Police station building on Monday in a bid to commit suicide.

The youth, whose identification is yet unknown, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition for treatment.

The incident took place at the Managalabag Police Station in Cuttack this morning.

According to report, the youth reportedly climbed up the rooftop of Mangalabag Police Station unnoticed and attempted to commit suicide. On being aware of it, police persuaded him to come down. However, the man fastened his neck with a towel and jumped off the roof, before someone reached out at him to prevent. As a result, he sustained critical injuries and was rushed to SCB Hospital for resuscitation.

While the precise reason behind his critical decision is unclear, investigation is underway to ascertain it with details regarding his nativity.
