Deepinder Goyal shares crucial details about upcoming Temple wearable

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal recently shared essential operating details about his upcoming health device, Temple, just days before its official debut. Positioned as a radical departure from traditional smartwatches, this compact, pill-like gadget rests firmly between the user's forehead and ear. Pre-orders for the launch edition will likely begin next week on the official website. Customers can expect the high-end hardware to carry an estimated price tag of Rs 1 lakh, which equals roughly $1,000.

Global wearable technology continues to shift toward continuous, unobtrusive health monitoring. Temple aims to push this boundary further by introducing Brain Flow, a system engineered to measure blood circulation to the brain constantly. Goyal claims this makes it the first wearable of its kind, though the supporting scientific studies currently lack peer review. This health-first approach highlights a growing industry demand for specialized medical-grade monitoring outside clinical settings.

Understanding grip technology and comfort

Questions surrounding how the gadget stays on the skin were addressed publicly by the founder. Users attach the hardware using single-use tapes called Grips. Customers receive an unlimited supply of these medical-grade tapes included in the purchase price. Finding the perfect adhesive formulation proved as difficult as engineering the hardware itself, but the current design works flawlessly for 99 percent of users. Goyal stated that buyers often find it exceptionally comfortable. It takes only five minutes for individuals to forget they are even wearing it, and the smooth edges ensure clothing glides right over the hardware without accidentally pulling it off.

Durability for workouts and daily routines

Fitness enthusiasts and active users can wear the gadget securely during intense physical activities. It remains firmly in place during running, jumping, and heavy sweating. Furthermore, the hardware handles water exposure effortlessly. Users can safely wear it in the shower, the sauna, or the swimming pool, with scuba diving being the only restricted activity due to device limitations rather than tape failure. While a single Grip easily matches the device's seven-day battery life, the company recommends applying a fresh tape every two to three days. Maintaining personal hygiene remains simple, as users can wash their faces, perform skincare routines, and apply makeup without removing the gadget. Early access applicants will choose from six distinct launch colors, including True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade, Deep Blue, and Purple Funk.
