Bhubaneswar, December 7: Senior Odisha Cadre IPS Officer Asish Singh has been appointed as Inspector General(IG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police(ITBP).
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday issued notification in this connection.
The correspondence from the MHA remitted for the Odisha Chief Secy read, IPS Asish Singh has been appointed as IG, ITBP on Central deputaion for a period of five years.
In the letter, the Odisha Chief Secretary has been asked to relieve Singh immediately so as to help him take up his new assignment at the Centre.
Worth mentioning, Singh was suspended for his alleged interference in the poll following the ECI’s reccomendation. Later, Singh, the then IG, chief minister’s security, was asked to appear before a medical board constituted by director of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar not later than May 30.
Singh was on one-month leave on health grounds from May 4. Meanwhile, the state government had also appointed Singh as OSD in the Home department on July 11.
