Mayurbhanj, July 9: In a tragic incident, a man drowned while bathing in the Budhabalanga River in Nuandihi village under Bangiriposi police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased has been identified as Bishikesan Dehury (50).
As per reports, Bishikesan went to bathe in the river on Tuesday after working in his paddy field but never returned home. Later, his body was discovered floating in the river on Wednesday morning.
Upon getting the information, Bangiriposi police along with the fire brigade team arrived at the scene and fished out the body. Subsequently, it was sent to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital (PRMMCH) for post-mortem.
Though the exact circumstances surrounding his death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he might have drowned after being swept away by the strong current in the river due to heavy rainfall.
