Bhubaneswar, August 17: Jharsuguda Sadar Police has held four youths in connection with the loot of scrap machinery from a shutdown steel plant.

As many as two high-version cars have been seized from the looters which were being used for transporting the stolen machinery.

Police sources said a gang was rampant in Jharsuguda which was involved in stealing scrap iron goods and machinery from the Action Ispat Factory, left shut down for years. On August 15, the gang allegedly stole away scrap goods from the factory by terrifying the security personnel deployed at the main gate.

Acting on the complaint of security guard Babul Bhoi, the police investigated the matter and reach the looter. The accused have been identified as Munu Pande, Dinesh Shankar alias Radhe, Krishna Shaw, and Ganesh Oram.

An Audi with a Maruti Ertiga car, pistols, shots, and other ammunition have been recovered from the possession of the gang, said police.
