BCCI retains key leadership for IPL Governing Council operations
BCCI witnessed crucial developments today as top officials convened for important board proceedings. Odisha Cricket Association Secretary Sanjay Behera actively participated in the 95th Annual General Body Meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Mumbai served as the designated venue for this high-profile administrative assembly on September 18, 2026. Representatives from all affiliated state units joined the primary office bearers to deliberate on the future of national cricket governance. This gathering marks a regular yet highly anticipated event in the sporting calendar, allowing state representatives to voice their regional priorities on a national platform. Odisha’s expanding cricket infrastructure, including continuous upgrades to regional facilities, aligns with this active participation in national board meetings.
Leadership continuity emerged as a central theme during the election procedures. Members elected Arun Singh Dhumal to the IPL Governing Council alongside M. Khairul Jamal Majumdar. Both administrators will now guide the operational and strategic direction of the franchise tournament. State cricket bodies maintain an integral function in shaping sports administration, and Odisha consistently ensures strong representation in these critical national forums. Board members also utilized the meeting to adopt the audited statement of accounts for the 2025-26 financial years.
