Cuttack, July 11: The S N Mukhi Foundation awarded the legendary S N Mukhi Scholarships to selected meritorious students and youth icons of Niali area in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Friday.
In a distinguished program, organized at the Laxmi Narayan Vidya Pitha, Kamarda, guests and dignitaries felicitated the matriculation toppers of local high schools situated in and around the Niali area.
The S N Mukhi Scholarship, sponsored by the S N Mukhi Foundation and founded by renowned teacher & educationist S N Mukhi, recognized each awardee with an amount of Rs 3000 and certificates.
In the occasion chaired by ace educationist Mihir Kumar Mohapatra, Block Education Officer, Jyotsnarani Mohapatra, Educationist Sarat Chandra Swain & Advisor, SN Mukhi Foundation, Surendranath Mukhi joined as the chief guest, chief speaker and guest of honor respectively.
Among others, educationist Premananda Mohapatra, Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, Jyotiranjan Das, Ramakant Swain, Ramakant Mallik and Geetanjali Puhana, attended the felicitation ceremony.
Following a formal session, the panel of guests felicitated the awardees.Meanwhile, farewell of veteran teacher Kalyani Rout, who retired from the Laxmi Narayan High School, was held wherein she was given a tearful see-off by the students, teachers and local elites.
At the onset, Rosalin Swain, Assistant Teacher of the school welcomed the guests whereas Senior Teacher Mangal Prasad Mohapatra presided the farewell meeting. Teachers and school officials including Sanghamitra Mohanty, Jayanti Betala, Laxmipriya Tarania, Pranati Mohapatra, Sasmita Senapati, Sulochana Sethi, Sabita Sethi, Sushree Lopamudra Behera, Kshirod Kumar Mohapatra, Ajay Kumar Pradhan, Lokanath Mohapatra, Alok Kumar Das, Ajay Kumar Routray, among others, helped coordinating the program. Board Member, S N Mukhi Foundation Umakant Samantray proposed the vote of thanks. Following, the formal meeting, a colourful cultural show was dedicated for the outgoing teacher wherein students enthralled the audience.
