Balasore, April 6: Three persons were killed in a tragic road accident after a truck rammed into another stationary truck from behind on National Highway-16 near Soro in Balasore district late Sunday night.

The mishap occurred in front of Modern Hotel at Dahisada. According to reports, a truck had broken down and was parked on the roadside when another truck, en route from Balasore to Soro, crashed into it from behind.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving three occupants of the rear truck trapped inside the mangled vehicle.

On being informed, fire services personnel from Soro rushed to the spot and rescued the victims by cutting open the truck with a gas cutter. The injured were immediately shifted to Soro hospital by a highway ambulance, where doctors declared all three dead.

Police from Soro have seized both the vehicles and launched an investigation. The accident was so intense that the trucks were completely damaged.
