Bhubaneswar: BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan, who had filed his nomination as an Independent candidate for the upcoming Odisha Rajya Sabha election, has withdrawn it today.
Pradhan initially filed his nomination on August 21 after former MP and BJP leader Mamata Mohanta had submitted her nomination as the party's official candidate, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi being present.
Worth mentioning, Mamata Mohanta, who had been elected to the Rajya Sabha on a BJD ticket in April 2020, had resigned from both the Rajya Sabha and the primary membership of BJD on July 31, despite her tenure being set to end in April 2026.
