Mumbai, Oct 1: Veteran actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late on Monday night. His condition is reported to be stable. Sources said, the 73-year-old actor is scheduled to undergo an elective procedure today which was planned earlier. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin extended his wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery, expressing his sentiments on social media. Rajinikanth, revered as a cinematic icon, was last seen in the blockbuster film Jailer, which has become one of the highest-grossing Tamil films in history. The film also won the Best Picture award at the IIFA Utsavam 2024, further set Rajinikanth’s legendary status in the industry. Prior to his hospitalization, Rajinikanth made headlines at the audio launch of his upcoming film Vettaiyan, where he delighted fans with his signature dance moves. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan is set to release on October 10 and has already generated considerable excitement following its official preview. This film will mark Rajinikanth’s 170th appearance on screen, produced by Lyca Productions with an impressive budget of Rs 160 crore. Filming took place in various stunning locations across India, including Chennai, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad, contributing to the anticipation surrounding its release.
