Dahod (Gujarat), May 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public gathering in Dahod of Gujarat on Monday, issued a strong warning against terrorism, asserting that any attempt to harm Indian women or challenge the nation would face decisive retaliation.
His remarks were in reference to a Operation Sindoor, which he said showcased India’s firm resolve.
Speaking with emotion and firmness, PM Modi said, “Jab koi hamari behno ke sindoor ko mitayega, toh uska bhi mitna tay ho jata hai” — translating to, “If anyone dares to wipe off the sindoor of our sisters, their end is certain.” He emphasized that ‘Operation Sindoor’, a recent offensive carried out by the Indian armed forces, went beyond military action, reflecting India’s deep-rooted cultural values and emotional strength.
“This operation is not merely a military act,” he added. “It reflects the values we, as Indians, hold dear. It represents our emotional connection to every Indian’s dignity and security.”
PM Modi disclosed that following a terrorist attack on April 22, he authorized the armed forces to act without restraint. “The terrorists challenged 140 crore Indians,” he said. “So I did what you elected me to do — I gave our three armed forces full freedom, and our brave soldiers responded swiftly, destroying the enemy’s biggest terrorist camp in just 22 minutes.”
He further stated that nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were dismantled in the operation. When the Pakistani military responded provocatively, Indian forces retaliated and defeated them as well.
Targeting Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism, PM Modi accused the neighboring country of harboring an agenda solely built on hostility toward India. “After Partition, their only objective was to hate India and block our progress,” he said. “But our goal has always been development — to eliminate poverty and build a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).”
He stressed that national strength lies in both military power and economic resilience. “A truly developed India is only possible when both our armed forces and our economy are strong. We are dedicated to achieving that,” he affirmed.
During his two-day visit to Gujarat, PM Modi also inaugurated a state-of-the-art Locomotive Manufacturing Plant of Indian Railways in Dahod. The facility will produce high-powered 9000 HP electric locomotives for domestic use and exports. The addition is expected to significantly enhance Indian Railways' freight carrying capacity. He also flagged off the first electric locomotive manufactured at the new plant.
