According to reports, headmaster Sunakar Nayak allegedly consumed alcohol while sitting in his office during the school’s games break. After becoming heavily intoxicated, he reportedly locked the office from inside and fell asleep.
Despite repeated attempts by other teachers to wake him and get him to open the door, he allegedly remained unresponsive. As the headmaster was reportedly the only teacher at the school, classes were disrupted after the games break.
Reports further suggest that before consuming alcohol, the headmaster had locked the school’s main gate, leaving students unable to leave the premises.
Later, at around 5 pm, departmental officials reportedly reached the school and broke open the lock to gain entry.
