Odisha's Simlipal National Park closed due to heavy rainfall

Simlipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district remained out of bound for tourists today and tomorrow due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the area, Prakash Chand Gogineni, the Regional Chief Conservator of Simlipal and Field Director of Simlipal Tiger Reserve informed.

Mayurbhanj, Mar 22: Simlipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district remained out of bound for tourists today and tomorrow due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the area, Prakash Chand Gogineni, the Regional Chief Conservator of Simlipal and Field Director of Simlipal Tiger Reserve informed.

 

This decision was made by the authorities of Simlipal Tiger Reserve to ensure the safety of visitors.

 

Gogineni stated that the park will remain closed until further notice, with the situation being closely monitored. Visitors will be allowed to enter the park again once the weather improves. A notification regarding the exact date of reopening will be issued and published at a later time.

 

Tourists planning to visit Simlipal National Park are advised to check with the park authorities for updates before making travel arrangements.

 

Simlipal National Park is renowned for its rich biodiversity, wildlife, and scenic beauty. It is also home to several stunning waterfalls, including the Barehipani Waterfall, one of the highest in India.
