Nabarangpur/ Cuttack, Mar 2: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday apprehended two police officials for demanding and accepting bribe.
Odisha Vigilance arrested Simanchal Moharana, ASI of Police of police station in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 5000 from a Complainant for showing leniency and to help in a case registered earlier in Dabugaon PS against him and his family members. On seeing the Vigilance Officials, Moharana threw the entire bribe money in PS Malkhana and the same has been recovered and seized from PS Malkhana.Both hands wash of Moharana gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe money by him.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Moharana, ASI from DA angle.
Similarly, Vigilance arrested Alok Kumar Sarangi, ASI of Police of Bhadreswar Police station in Cuttack district for taking bribe Sarangi was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.8000from a Complainant to help him in a case registered earlier in Bhadreswar PS.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from exclusive possession of Sarangi and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sarangi, ASI from DA angle.
