Bhubaneswar, July 8: A CME on Women’s Mental Health was organised by the East Zone – Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) in Bhubaneswar, under the theme ‘Crying, Coping, Cuddling’.
The event was led by Organising Chairperson Dr Tanmaini Das and Secretary Dr Debadatta Mohapatra and Dr Niska Sinha, who highlighted the need for greater awareness on maternal mental health. IPS Odisha State Branch President Dr Suvendu Mishra and Secretary Dr Mohapatra addressed the current state of women’s mental health in Odisha and strategies for improvement.
The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr T.S.S. Rao, with Dr Amrit Pattojoshi as Guest of Honour. Special guests included Dr Samrat Kar, Dr Sujit Sakhel and others.
Over 200 psychiatrists attended the event, where 30 experts spoke on key topics including social media and motherhood expectations, perinatal grief, suicidality risk, and shared decision-making.
