Baripada, April 7: In a major action against illegal cattle smuggling, Odisha Police on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids at multiple locations in Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts.
According to sources, Bhadrak Police carried out raids at eight places, while Mayurbhanj Police conducted searches at 15 locations across the district. The coordinated operation aims to curb illegal cattle transportation and dismantle organized mafia networks.
The raids in Mayurbhanj are being conducted under the direction of SP Varun Guntupalli. Key areas under the scanner include Rairangpur, Baripada, Jharpokharia, Bangiriposi, and Baisinga, among others.
Senior police officials, including the Additional SP, DSPs, and Inspectors, are actively involved in the operation. Magistrates have also been deployed at several locations to oversee the proceedings.
During the raids, police have seized cash exceeding ₹11 lakh, gold ornaments worth over ₹10 lakh, six four-wheelers, and five motorcycles.
