Bhubaneswar, Sept 4: Large gatherings were witnessed at various common service centres (CSCs) in Odisha today as the application process for the highly anticipated Subhadra Yojana commenced.
Women flocked to Anganwadi Kendras, block offices, and Mo Seva Kendras to either collect or submit their application forms for financial assistance under the scheme. Many others were seen queuing outside centers to update their Aadhar cards.
Applicants are facing several issues, including incorrect addresses, missing names of spouses or fathers, and unlinked mobile numbers on their Aadhar cards.
According to the Subhadra Yojana guidelines, each applicant must possess an Aadhar card in their own name. Those without an Aadhar number or those with data mismatches must either enroll in Aadhar or correct the information on their existing cards. Beneficiaries must also link their mobile numbers to their Aadhar cards and have an Aadhaar-enabled, DBT-enabled single-holder bank account.
As correct mobile number and error-free Aadhaar card are mandatory to apply for the scheme, women are making a rush at different CSCs across the state.
According to government guideline, the CSCs are required to collect Rs 50 for rectification of error in Aadhaar cards. While one has to pay Rs 100 for biometric fingerprints, no fee is required for applying for new Aadhaar card.
The first installment is expected to be distributed on September 17 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it Odisha.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 annually in two installments of Rs 5,000 each and eligible beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 50,000 over the five years.
