Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: The Odisha Higher Education Department has issued directives to identify teachers under its jurisdiction who may be underperforming and require mandatory leave. Letters have been sent to all university registrars, principals of government degree colleges, teacher training institutes, and higher secondary schools across the state.

Strict guidelines have been issued to assess teachers’ performance and conduct, with colleges asked to submit detailed reports by January 31. The move is aimed at improving work efficiency and maintaining high educational standards in the state.
