Odisha govt to build second bridge at Trisulia to ease Cuttack-Bhubaneswar traffic

Bhubaneswar, Sept 20: Odisha Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Saturday informed that the state government is progressing with plans to build a second bridge at Trisulia to ease the escalating traffic congestion between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

The estimated project cost is Rs. 297.59 crore, with construction expected to begin once the tender process is finalized. The targeted completion period is 36 months.

As per reports, Harichandan's response was in reply to a query from Congress MLA Sofia Firdous, who emphasized the need for better infrastructure to alleviate traffic congestion between the twin cities.

Harichandan also informed the Assembly that the project is currently in the tendering stage and the Odisha Bridges and Construction Corporation (OBCC) Ltd. overseeing the process.

The Minister revealed that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed, and administrative approval has been granted.
