Sales for this highly anticipated model kick off on October 23, with pre-orders opening a week earlier on October 16. Tech giants have competed for dominance in the foldable market for over five years, but Apple deliberately waited to perfect its hinge mechanics and software integration before entering the fray. According to CEO John Ternus, this hardware represents a transformative shift in mobile technology, blending extreme portability with expansive display areas designed to maximize daily productivity and gaming.

Constructed from Grade 5 Titanium and Ceramic Shield 2, this new hardware merges a 7.6-inch inner flexible screen with a 5.4-inch outer display. Both displays fully support USB-C Apple Pencils for creative workflows. Engineers developed a custom variable torque hinge featuring carbon fiber plates and integrated magnets to ensure a perfectly flat closure. Furthermore, a custom polymer applied via maskless laser lithography minimizes the visible screen crease. A Touch ID sensor sits neatly on the side button, while an under-display FaceTime camera stays completely hidden inside the main screen until needed.

Running the robust A20 Pro processor originally seen in iPhone 18 Pro models, this foldable operates on dynamically adaptive iOS 27 software. This operating system lets users view dual home screens simultaneously, run parallel apps, or pin videos on the top half while typing below. For photography enthusiasts, it packs a 48MP Fusion primary camera alongside a 48MP ultra-wide lens, featuring clever "SmartTake" technology that auto-snaps photos when subjects smile. Buyers can choose between Night Sky and Star White colorways. Storage options scale up to a 2TB top variant priced at Rs 4,49,900.
