Dhenkanal, Mar 23: Amrit Ruturaj, an IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Dhenkanal.
A notification issued by the General Administration department today stated, "In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act of 1974), the state government hereby appoints Amrit Ruturaj, IAS, as the District Magistrate of Dhenkanal."
Ruturaj, who belongs to the 2015 batch of IAS officers, previously held the position of Labour Commissioner in the state.
His educational journey began with his 10th grade at Jajpur Zilla School in 2007, followed by his Plus II in Science at Ravenshaw College. He pursued his undergraduate studies in Political Science at Ravenshaw University and later completed his masters in International Relations from the School of International Studies (SIS) at JNU, New Delhi. Ruturaj holds the distinction of being a Ravenshaw Gold Medalist and successfully cracked the UPSC examination without any coaching.
Worth mentioning, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had ordered the transfer of the previous Dhenkanal Collector, Manoranjan Mallick, just yesterday.
