Odisha: Brother-sister duo kill man over past enmity in Digapahandi

Digapahandi, June 30: In a gruesome incident, a brother-sister duo allegedly killed a man over a past enmity in Digapahandi area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as B. Ramachandra (29), while the accused have been identified as K. Santosh and his sister.

As per reports, there had been previous enmity between the two. On several occasions, they had been drinking alcohol and causing disturbances with each other. Even yesterday, while Ramachandra was busy with a family prayer ritual, there was ongoing conflict in both families throughout the day. 

That night, while the deceased Ramachandra was sleeping on his father’s cot, Santosh and his sister attacked him with various while he was asleep.

In the attack, the victim sustained grave injuries and died on the spot, according to police reports. 

Upon receiving the information, Digapahandi police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem. They arrested K. Santosh, who was involved in the murder, while his sister is on the run. 

Further investigation into the matter was underway and efforts are on to nab the woman, said the police.
