Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: After resigning from the BJP, former Salepur MLA Prakash Chandra Behera today joined the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly polls. Behera was inducted into the conch party fold at the Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier on March 29, Behera had resigned from the primary membership of BJP.
In a letter addressed to BJP’s Odisha unit President Manmohan Samal, Behera expressed his efforts to serve diligently in his capacity and contribute to the party's growth. However, he admitted to falling short of his own expectations in achieving significant milestones.
Notably, Behera, who was formerly associated with the Congress, had joined the BJP in 2019. Despite contesting the elections on the BJP ticket that year, he faced defeat.
