Raipur, November 18: Notorious Naxal leader Madvi Hidma, along with five other Naxalites, was killed in an intense encounter in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. Hidma, aged 51, was one of the most feared commanders in the Naxal movement, responsible for orchestrating numerous deadly attacks over the past two decades.

The encounter took place in the Maredumilli forest, located in the Alluri Sitaramaraju district of Andhra Pradesh, near the Chhattisgarh border. Hidma's wife, Madkam Raje, and four other associates were also killed in the operation. The breakthrough was confirmed by a senior police officer in Bastar.

Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the joint operation by security forces as a "decisive achievement" in the ongoing battle against Left-Wing Extremism. He emphasized that the killing of Hidma and his associates marks a significant turning point in the fight against insurgency, calling it the "last nail in the coffin" for the Naxal threat.
