Konark, Jan 28: At least three people sustained injuries as the car in which they were traveling caught fire after being hit by another vehicle from the rear on the Puri-Konark road in Odisha.
The incident occurred at around 4 am as the car, which was traveling from Puri to Konark with three passengers onboard, was hit from the rear by another vehicle near Ramchandi on the Puri-Konark road.
The impact was so severe that the car overturned and tumbled off the road, into a nearby jungle area. However, all the occupants somehow managed to come out of the four-wheeler before the inferno engulfed the entire vehicle.
The three injured passengers were quickly shifted to Puri Hospital via ambulance.
Being informed, the Konark Fire Brigade rushed to the scene. By the time they reached, the car was partially engulfed in flames.
The Chandrabhaga Marine Police have seized the car, and further investigation into the matter is on.
