Bhubaneswar, May 27: The long-awaited divine wedding of Mahaprabhu Lingaraj will take place on May 30.
The date was selected following consultations with temple astrologers, ensuring that it aligns with the most auspicious time for the ceremony. The date was finalized after resolving differences regarding the timing, with a thorough review of the almanac confirming May 30 as the ideal day.
After the wedding rituals, Lord Lingaraj is scheduled to return to the Lingaraj Temple on the night of May 31. Initially, the Khadiratna Panji had already indicated May 30 as the propitious date for the ceremony. Following this, both the temple administration and the servitors reached a consensus to proceed with the ritual as planned.
On the evening of May 30, Lord Lingaraj will be part of a grand procession to the Kedar Gauri Temple, where his divine wedding with Goddess Gauri will take place. The event will culminate with his return to the Lingaraj Temple on May 31, marking the end of the sacred celebration.
