New Delhi, May 9: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, renowned poet Kumar Vishwas appealed to Indian news channels, broadcasters, and independent content creators to refrain from sharing "unauthorised" and "unverified" information. Emphasizing the importance of national unity and responsible journalism, he urged citizens and media outlets to exercise restraint and trust only official government sources during this critical time.
In a video message, Vishwas praised the Indian Army for its recent operations targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He called on broadcasters to consider the broader impact of the news they share, stating, “Before airing any news, ask yourself: how will this affect our national unity? Could this be misused by hostile forces?”
Reflecting on the aftermath of the 2016 surgical strikes, Vishwas recalled how internal demands for proof were exploited by Pakistan to question India’s credibility internationally. “I’ve been through this before,” he said, “when people demanded proof of the strike, and Pakistan used that narrative globally.”
He strongly appealed to social media influencers and independent creators to prioritize national interest over online engagement. “We must not share any content for YouTube views or social media likes that could harm the country’s interests,” he warned. He emphasized that all updates and evidence should be disseminated through official sources such as the Indian Army (ADGPI), the Ministry of Broadcasting, and other government channels.
In conclusion, Kumar Vishwas called on every citizen to follow civic rules, assist those in need, and stand united in support of the Indian Armed Forces.
