Jayashree Cinema Hall in Cuttack closed permanently

Cuttack, June 28: In a bad news for movie buffs, Jayashree talkies, a leading single-screen cinema hall in Cuttack has been permanently closed by its management. The Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME) shared the information on its twitter handle. The cinema hall played a key role in popularising several Odia movies in the past. Sources said that the film hall is all set to be converted into a Banquet Hall. Earlier Nishamani, another single-screen hall in Cuttack was closed down and transformed into a Kalyan Mandap. Besides Cuttack has also witnessed the closure of Pravat Cinema, Rajatarangini Hall and Hind Cinema in the recent past while Durga Devi hall was converted to INOX cinema after being closed for several years.
