Bhubaneswar: Odisha Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, visited Government College of Physical Education, Tamando on Wednesday.
During his visit Minister Suraj conducted an extensive tour of the college campus, reviewing key facilities including the academic building, library, hostels and major sports infrastructure such as the football ground, athletic track and the indoor swimming pool. He also reviewd the ongoing construction work related to the Multi-purpose hall and the modern ICT Lab.
Suraj emphasized the timely completion of all development projects aimed at strengthening the foundation of the institution. He instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the work is completed within the stipulated deadlines.
In a detailed discussion with the college principal, faculty members and students, Minister highlighted Odisha government’s various initiatives to promote sports and nurture athletes at the grassroots level. He stressed the importance of blending quality education with skill development and urged students to adopt sports as an integral part of their daily lives, not just as a competitive pursuit but as a pathway to holistic well-being.
Minister also held discussions with the college administration and senior officers of the Sports and Youth Services Department on further strengthening the institution’s infrastructure and ensuring enhanced facilities and opportunities for all students, with the goal of fostering their overall development.
