Cuttack, May 8: In a shocking incident, the body of an elderly man was found behind a school in Govindpur under Baranga Police limits here.
The deceased has been identified as Ambika Raut (60), a resident of Ramchandi village under Banki police limits.
According to deceased son Pradeep, his father had gone to attend nature’s call six days before but did not return. Despite a frantic search, Pradeep had been unable to locate him.
On Wednesday evening, some passersby spotted the body of Ambika and informed the police. Being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation into the matter.
This morning, when Pradeep heard news of a dead body being found near Govindpur, he immediately rushed to the spot and identified the body by his father's pants.
The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
