Cuttack, May 3: In a tragic incident, three workers were killed and three others became critical in Cuttack on Satrurday after a few concrete slabs fell down on them.
The incident took place at Khannagar in the Cuttack City this afternoon where a bridge was under construction as a part of the Ring Road Project.
According to reports, a private construction company was executing the Ring Road project here. Today a team of workers was roofing concrete blocks on the bridge with the help of a crane. Meanwhile, a few slabs fell on them as the load-chain broke all of a sudden. As a result, at least five workers sustained critical injuries of which two died on the spot. Three others were rushed to the SCB Medical College & Hospital for resuscitation where the doctors declared another worker dead.
On being informed, Police seized the bodies and initiated an investigation into the matter.
