New Delhi, April 22: On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism, declaring that the country will never bow to any form of terror. He stressed that the nefarious plans of terrorists will never succeed.
The attack, carried out by the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group in Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of 26 innocent people, mostly tourists from across India, on this day last year.
"Today, we remember the innocent lives lost in the brutal Pahalgam terror attack. Their memory will forever remain in our hearts," Modi wrote in a post on 'X.'
The Prime Minister also expressed solidarity with the families of the victims, offering his condolences as they continue to cope with their profound loss.
"As a nation, we stand together in both grief and determination. India will never succumb to terrorism. The evil designs of terrorists will always fail," he affirmed.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, a military operation that targeted and destroyed terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, signaling India’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and security.
