Odisha Civil Services main exam begins in Berhampur

Berhampur, Oct 31: The Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Main Examination is being held today at two centres in Berhampur- Government Sashi Bhushan Rath Autonomous Women's College and K.C. Public School.

The examination is taking place in the aftermath of the recent floods.

In view of travel difficulties caused by Cyclone Arnab and the subsequent flooding in southern Odisha, the Ganjam district administration has made special arrangements for candidates appearing for the examination. These include free food, accommodation and transportation to ensure that flood-related disruptions do not prevent candidates from taking the test.

Candidates facing difficulties in reaching their examination centres can seek assistance from designated officials at the Brahmapur Sub-Collector’s office, the district administration said on Friday.

The following officials have been assigned to assist candidates:

Bikash Samal: 916351750755

Kanhai Charan Gouda: 919337458334

Samir Kumar Dash: 918658111186

The district administration has urged candidates facing travel difficulties to contact the designated officials and avail themselves of the facilities.

Earlier, the state government had clarified that the OCS Main Written Examination would be conducted as scheduled despite the prevailing flood situation in southern Odisha. It had also assured special arrangements to facilitate the movement of candidates from affected areas to their respective examination centres.

With the examination being held in the aftermath of the cyclone-induced floods, attention is now on how candidates from affected areas are reaching the centres and whether the special arrangements have helped ease their difficulties.
