Govt Assures Adequate Fuel Supply, Urges Against Panic Buying Amid Hormuz Disruptions

New Delhi, April 4: The government has called on citizens to refrain from panic buying of petrol, diesel, and LPG, assuring that fuel supplies remain sufficient despite the disruptions caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas emphasized that proactive measures are in place to ensure the continued availability of petroleum products and cooking gas. Citizens are advised to rely solely on official information and adopt energy conservation practices.

To prioritize the needs of households, hospitals, and essential services, the government has focused on securing domestic LPG and piped natural gas (PNG) supplies. Additionally, steps are being taken to increase refinery output and manage demand, including extending the intervals between LPG refills.
