Born in 1861, Visvesvaraya made significant contributions to India’s engineering, irrigation, water supply and infrastructure development. He later served as the Dewan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918 and was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.
Engineers’ Day 2026 Theme
