Puri, July 25: Divya Jyoti Parida officially assumed charge as the new District Collector of Puri on Thursday, following a ceremonial visit to the Jagannath Temple to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath before taking up his new responsibilities.
Speaking after taking charge, Parida expressed his commitment to the development of the district and called for active cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure progress and good governance in Puri.
Parida, who previously served as the Collector of Ganjam, replaces Chanchal Rana, who has been appointed as the Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Upon his arrival at the Collectorate, the new Collector was welcomed by senior officials, including Additional District Collector (Administration) Sarat Chandra Behera, Additional District Collector (Revenue) Sarat Chandra Mahapatra, Additional District Collector (Protocol) Nilamadhab Bhoi, Chief Development Officer of the Zilla Parishad Priyaranjan Prusty, Executive Officer of the Municipality Abhimanyu Behera, and Sub-Collector Raj Kishore Jena.
Later in the day, officials from various departments met with the new Collector and conveyed their best wishes as he embarked on his new role.
