Bhubaneswar, Sep 2: The Odisha Vigilance officials today apprehended a Child Development Project Officer(CDPO) in Sundargarh district while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.
Jayashree Pattnaik, CDPO, Kutra was apprehended while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.2,000 as first installment of an overall demand of Rs 5,000 from an Anganwadi worker for not giving an adverse report against her following a surprise visit to the Anganwadi Centre.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from accused Pattnaik and seized, said the Vigilance.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Pattnaik from a disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance has registered a case.
