Jajpur, July 20: While the self-immolation of a FM College girl, has wreaked a political storm in Odisha another college student in Jajpur has raised serious moral allegation against the HoD.
However, the complainant, this time is a 21-year-old boy who is a third-year Political Science student.
As per initial reports, the boy submitted a written complaint with the Police on Saturday against his HoD, Niranjan Panda.
In the complaint the student alleged that Panda had been allegedly demanding sexual favours in exchange for higher grades in the exam.
The complaint also cited that, the teacher threatened him to fail him in final exams if he refused to comply with, as he asks for.
Acting on the complaint, the college authorities constituted a five-member internal inquiry committee.The committee was asked to submit its inquiry report by Monday (July 21). Reports also added that Jajpur On the otherhand, the accused teacher has refuted the allegation raised against him.
“This is a bid to stain my reputation”, he added.
According to the track record of the HoD, he was previously held in such a case in 2021.
Acknowledging the complaint, Jajpur police has also initiated an investigation into the matter.
