Bhubaneswar, March 3: As the election approaches, the political landscape in Keonjhar Lok Sabha constituency is indeed undergoing significant shifts.

Chandrani Murmu, the incumbent MP,  appears to be out of the race for the BJD ticket in the upcoming election. Her absence leaves room for a new candidate to step forward.

The ruling BJD, which has consistently secured this reserved Scheduled Tribe seat, is actively seeking a fresh face to counter the BJP candidate. This move reflects the party’s determination to maintain its stronghold in Keonjhar.

Former Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud is expected to play a pivotal role in selecting BJD candidate for the Keonjhar Lok Sabha seat. His recommendations hold weight within the party, and his involvement underscores the significance of this decision.

Sanatan Mahakud has reportedly recommended the name of Champua Block Chairman Ramani Naik as the BJD candidate for Keonjhar. However, the final confirmation is still pending.

The upcoming election has posed several challenges for the ruling party. Factors such as the construction of the Ram Mandir and the Modi wave may sway Hindu voters in favor of the BJP. Therefore, candidate selection becomes crucial for the BJD to secure victory.

In this dynamic political scenario, the BJD’s choice of candidate will significantly impact the electoral outcome. The party must carefully navigate these challenges to maintain its historical success in Keonjhar.
