Cuttack, July 15: Elaborate preparations have been made in Cuttack for President Droupadi Murmu's visit, who is scheduled to attend four significant events during her day-long stay today. Tight security and special traffic arrangements have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the high-profile engagements.
The President will be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University, one of Odisha's most prestigious academic institutions. The event will commence at 11 AM.
At around 12:20 PM, the President is scheduled to arrive at the premises of Ravenshaw Girls' School. She will lay the foundation stone for a developmental project at the century-old educational institution.
Later in the afternoon, between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM, the President will meet with select dignitaries at the Circuit House.
At 3:00 PM, she will attend the ‘Sarala Bhavan Visit Programme,’ followed by participation in the birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das at 4:00 PM. The Jayanti Utsav will be held at the Indoor Stadium, where the President will be the chief attraction of the event.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also be honoured with the 'Kalinga Ratna' award during the ceremony.
In light of the President’s visit, Cuttack city has been placed under heightened security, with strict measures and a dedicated traffic management plan implemented by the administration to ensure public safety and smooth logistics throughout the day.
