Bhubaneswar, March 14: The Biju Patnaik Energy Park at Khandagiri in the city is yet to open for public after two years of its closure for renovation work.
The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) had set up the park over 2.5 acres of land and it was dedicated to public on December 10, 2006.
The park has children's corner, indoor exhibit gallery, conference room, interactive media centre.
Besides, there were several outdoor exhibits including working models of different renewable energy devices depicting their working principles, applicability and a host of other information.
However, the Biju Patnaik Energy Park got closed following Covid pandemic. The Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) was entrusted its renovation work in 2022. The IDCO was sanctioned Rs 40 lakh in first phase and Rs 60 lakh in second phase for the renovation work which is yet to be completed after two years.
OREDA officer Er Soumyaranjan Aich said the public entry to the Biju Patnaik Energy Park will resume after completion of the renovation work by end of this month.
