Bhubaneswar, June 4: The two-day state-level revenue officers’ conference began today, bringing together key administrative officers to review and strengthen the revenue service delivery system in Odisha.
On the opening day of the conference, as many as 317 Tehsildars and 58 Sub-Collectors from across the state participated, along with District Collectors who joined the session via video conferencing (VC). Other revenue officials also took part in the conference through virtual mode.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi formally inaugurated the conference, underlining the importance of efficient and transparent revenue administration for the state’s development.
Each Tahsildar is expected to present their performance reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and best practices implemented at the grassroots level.
As part of the event, the state government will recognise and reward outstanding performance in revenue service delivery. This year, three districts that have demonstrated exceptional success in revenue-related services will be felicitated, along with five tehsils that have shown exemplary achievements.
The conference aims to enhance coordination, promote transparency, and improve public service efficiency among the state’s revenue officials. It also provides a platform to discuss digitisation of land records, timely delivery of caste and residence certificates, and proactive disaster management in revenue administration.
Officials noted that such conferences serve as a vital mechanism for reviewing grassroots governance and setting future goals for administrative excellence. The second day of the conference is expected to feature interactive sessions and presentations by select districts and tehsils on innovative practices and success stories.
