Bhubaneswar, Sept 21: The seventh session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence on September 22 and continue until October 3. In view of the movement of vehicles and the safety of the general public during the session, the Commissionerate Police has imposed traffic restrictions on roads adjoining the Assembly premises.
According to a press release issued by the Commissionerate Police, vehicles travelling from Housing Board Square towards Rabindra Mandap will be diverted through the left-side road near Keshari Talkies to reach their respective destinations.
Vehicles coming from AG Square towards PMG Square will be diverted through the Indira Gandhi Park road on the right side near Jaydev Bhavan.
Similarly, vehicles approaching from Master Canteen Square will be allowed to proceed through either the left or right-side roads at Lower PMG Square.
Vehicles travelling from the 120 Battalion Square side towards Rabindra Mandap will have to take the Power House Square route. Those travelling from Lok Bhavan Square towards the MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted through Shastri Nagar Square.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency service vehicles, including police, fire services and ambulances. They will also be exempted for authorised vehicles travelling to the Legislative Assembly, State Secretariat and other government offices.
The traffic restrictions will remain in force throughout the duration of the Assembly session.
