Mumbai, January 30: Sunetra Pawar, Rajya Sabha MP and the widow of the late Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar, is expected to take the oath as Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday, according to party sources.

If confirmed, she will make history as the first woman to hold the prestigious position in the state.

Following the tragic death of Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy CM, in a recent air crash in Baramati, several NCP leaders have rallied behind Sunetra, advocating for her appointment to the role.
