Greater Noida, Sep 10: Overnight rain and wet outfield continued to play spoilsport for the second consecutive day of the one-off Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand at Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground, here on Tuesday.
Though there was no rain during the day, but overnight downpour did have serious impact on ground conditions. Wet outfield was a great challenge for the grounds-men as they continued to dry the surface.
But like Day 1, play was finally called off for the second consecutive day without even toss being held.
The toss is scheduled at 9 am on Wednesday, provided there is no more rain and ground conditions improve on Day 3, sources said.
Players of both sides were seen waiting patiently for the toss. However, without a single ball being bowled the Day 2 play between Afghanistan and New Zealand was called off by umpires.
